DON’T FORGET TO SAY…
By Asma & Sumayya Ahmad

+ BOOK REVIEW & FREE PRINTABLE +

Have you ever noticed that children learn best when they don’t realise they are being taught?

That’s why I love the concept of this picture book called “Don’t Forget To Say…” by Asma & Sumaaya Ahmed.

Because rather than just presenting children with duas to learn, “Don’t forget to say…” cleverly weaves 3 daily duas into a story about creative play and childhood exploration.

AN IMAGINATIVE ADVENTURE

Featuring a young boy named Anas, the story unfolds with a dialogue between himself and his Mother as Anas goes exploring.

We follow Anas’s adventure as he encounters several situations that his Mother uses as opportunities to teach him duas. I love the way the Mother is presented here as a guiding voice who helps Anas along the way.

The cartoon style illustrations successfully add details and insights into the story and work wonderfully along side the dialogue.

Don't forget to say book spread

“Don’t forget to say…” is a lovely picture book for introducing the concept of duas to young children in an imaginative way.

I hope in the future we will have the chance to follow Anas on more adventures, learning duas on the way… in sha’ Allah!
